Patriot's Most Anticipated Games in the Second Half of 2023

2023 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for gaming in quite a long time. With so many well-received AAA releases, successful new entries and sequels entering the mainstream, there's plenty of great games to sink into and plenty more to come.

In today's article, let's discuss some of Patriot Memory's most anticipated games of the second half of 2023 and what we'll line up for on release day.

Spider-Man 2:

As arguably the most anticipated AAA game of 2023, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will return to the sprawling story of Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they look to defend New York from new and fearsome enemies. However, with recent trailers debuting a few of the franchise's newest friends and foes like Harry Osborn, Kraven the Hunter and Venom, there are very high expectations being set for what looks to be the superhero genre's biggest game ever made.

Spider-Man 2 will be released on October 20, 2023. It will release exclusively on PS5, with a PC release likely coming in 2024.

Starfield:

Bethesda is back with Starfield as a brand-new massive RPG epic set to the backdrop of space. With a sprawling open-world setup and open-ended story full of exploratory adventures mixed in, Starfield is sure to be a huge hit and one of the biggest series in Bethesda's loaded catalog.

Starfield is currently set for release on September 8, 2023. It will be available for both PC and as an Xbox Series X/S-exclusive.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

After a lengthy hiatus, Snake is finally back and coming to the next generation. The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will feature Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater all optimized for the PS5 while retaining their original graphics and playable on one singular console for the first time ever. Gamers can finally return to the world of Metal Gear with full access to the earliest games, which will also include the first Metal Gear. This will serve for the 2024 4K 60FPS remaster of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be released on October 24, 2023. It will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

Mortal Kombat 1:

One of the most beloved fighting game franchises is taking a bold new direction as it seeks to reboot the franchise for the first time since Mortal Kombat (2011). With a back-to-basics approach, new combat mechanics, new versions of familiar characters and a plethora of game modes to choose from, gamers should be excited to test their might.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19, 2023, with pre-order early access beginning on September 15. It will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

Alan Wake 2:

As the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 sleeper hit horror game, Alan Wake 2 will follow the titular author in a mind-bending horror story split between Wake and FBI Agent Saga Anderson exploring a series of murders in Bright Falls, Washington.

Alan Wake 2 will release on October 17, 2023. It will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

With James Cameron's Avatar series returning to theaters in 2022 and the next entries set for release in the coming years, our time away from Pandora is far from over with the upcoming release of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. As a spin-off from the films, the game will be centered around a mysterious Na'Vi orphan setting out on a journey to discover their origins and rally tribes around Pandora to fight against the RDA's theft of natural resources.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will release on December 7, 2023. It will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and the Amazon Luna.

Payday 3

Payday is officially back and headed towards the future with Payday 3. Though much of the story remains to be seen, what we do know is that the original characters from Payday 2 have returned to their life of crime and expanding their empire. Moreover, with plenty of new surveillance technology, weapons and sharp gameplay, Payday 3 should have plenty in store for a great multiplayer experience.

Payday 3 will release on September 21, 2023. It will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Squirrel With a Gun:

We'll finish this list off with a fun one we can't get enough of after watching the new trailer. Yes, there is a whole game dedicated to playing as a squirrel with a gun where you have to fend off evil secret agents. It really doesn't really get much better than that.

Squirrel with a Gun will release later in 2023. It will be available for PC and may be made available for consoles at a later date.
